England’s performances may have lacked sparkle, but Gareth Southgate’s side have found a way to win as they’ve done so often in major tournaments of late – Bukayo Saka may have missed one of the crucial spot kicks against Italy in the final of Euro 2020, but he showed nerves of steel to step up and take one of the crucial penalties exemplifying the courage and resilience shown by the team. Meanwhile, the Dutch have exceeded pre-tournament expectations and were impressive in their quarter-final in coming from behind to see off a spirited Turkey side – with three goals to his name already, Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo is the focal point of the attack.
